Here are the steps to transfer video footage to your computer:
1. Create a folder within your class Google Drive folder and name it after the project you are starting. In this example: Basic Shots
 iMac card slot2. Attach the memory card holding your video footage to your computer. iMacs have slots to insert SD cards.

Close programs

 

3. After the card loads, close any programs (applications) that are open.

For example: Photos.

4. Open a new Finder window, navigate to the memory card and open it. If “Private” appears as a folder, just double-click to open it.

If “Private” does not appear as a folder, right-click (or Control+click) on it,

then click on “Show Package Contents”

Drag AVCHD to project folder

 

 

5, You should now see a folder (or a package) named “AVCHD.”

Drag this “AVCHD” folder to the project folder you created above.

 

Add more footage7. In your project folder, rename “AVCHD” to a one-word name for your project. In this example the folder is renamed “Basic”

8. When you record more footage for your project, add the new AVCHD file from the memory card to your project folder.

9. Rename the new footage with a number added. For example, Basic2 for the second card.

In this example, a third footage folder would be called Basic3

Congratulations! You have placed your video footage on your computer and made it available for editing.
